WAV, Apple vs Microsoft logo bomb

A few dudes from .WAV (We Are Visual) bolted Microsoft's logo to the facade of a boarded-up Apple store recently.

I don't know how I feel about this. But I will still buy an iPad to access the latest content from news publishers who are trying to stay relevant by mounting 'pay walls'.

Then I'll probably get a new PC loaded with Windows 7 so I can sync shit and read Acid Midget on the train.

Then I might buy an HTC Desire so I can say "Acid Midget is a street art blog made with an HTC Desire" in a wayyy sarcastic tone.

Fukt: Iwo Jima McDonald's stencil

The parallels between US World War II triumphs and US capitalist achievements are strong, street artist Fukt has indicated in this stencil.

It towers over the legal Grafton St wall like a flat statue, paying homage to the brave soldiers who decimated the Japanese Imperial Army at the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945.


Look at the passion in this soldier's limbs, willing the post to the summit.

Note the black and white face getting a good look at his balls.


Fukt is stating something else. Perhaps these men fought so brands like McDonald's could inseminate suburbs, subways and shopping centres around the world.

And perhaps this iconic symbol was a prelude to what the US now stands for - cheezburgers, a high obesity rate and Oprah.

This is Joe Rosenthal's original photograph atop Mount Suribachi. The Wikipedia page on the Battle of Iwo Jima is a great piece of historical writing.

It was written by a first year Bachelor of Arts student with an acne problem who received a high distinction for describing the battle with incredible bias toward the US using data manipulation and fact generalisations.

That's fukt.

Is this Hollywood Blvd billboard telling women they should either:

A) Stay away from Italians?

B) Drink more Stella Artois?

C) Drink more Stella Artois with body language that suggests they are performing fellatio?

D) Stay away from men all together because they will use you like a two-minute steak?


Is this Hollywood Blvd billboard telling women they should either:

A) Stay away from Latinos?

B) Drink more Stella Artois because that's what beautiful, desirable slutwalkers do?

C) Perform more fellatio because that's the best way to attract men with desirable genes?

D) Mix a cocktail of beauty products, alcohol, heightened promiscuity and passive behaviour because you're one of the 'uglies' and a candidate for suicide if you don't?

NETHERLANDS: Satirical Ronald McDonald poster


Some wheatpaster put up this poster in The Hague, the Netherlands, to have a dig at McDonald's for selling humans 'shit'.

Is Ronald McDonald the de facto target for street artists because he represents the farthest reaching tentacles of capitalism? I think the artist is saying McDonald's revenue will grow in tandem with the shittiness of its products.
