Brisbane floods mural by Above

Intrepid street artist Above is currently in Brisbane creating murals like the one above (pun ha).

This is what Above had to say about it on his website:

WITH THE RECENT DOWNPOUR OF RAIN AND DRASTIC FLOODS WASHING OUT THE CITY OF BRISBANE I DECIDED GET ON A PLANE AND FLY TO THE RECENTLY FLOODED CITY. THIS SITE SPECIFIC STENCIL'S AIM WAS TO EMPATHIZE WITH THE VICTIMS AND REFLECT THE HIGH SEVERITY OF THE THE FLOOD WATERS.

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA
JANUARY, 2011
Did Above use a sinking Noah's Ark as a metaphor to criticise human beings for getting it wrong?

Or is he an opportunist capitalising on the memeification of Brisbane since the floods, which have also engulfed Victoria, became international news weeks ago?

Wait, maybe I've got it wrong.

He's probably still jealous at Banksy after he became art celebrity for using satire to 'connect with humanity's pain' with his Israeli West Bank bombs.

Above, you are worth it too. Can you teach me how to stencil?
