DJ Shepard Fairey rocks Art Basel Miami

Persecuted artist Shepard Fairey has moved from humble beginnings as a street artist to cutting sick on the decks in Miami during Art Basel.

From achieving global recognition for his Obey brand, moving into gallery and museum exhibitions and starring in an Oscar-nominated film - Shepard Fairey has become an artist's artist.

Do you think Fairey is happy with his career trajectory since going viral? It doesn't look like it, given that he's trying to reconcile appearing genuine to his followers in the post-authentic street art world.



Although I usually keep my opinions to myself, I think he's done a good job of maintaining the rebel image via his recent criminal contempt charge via the Hope Poster via America's first black president via Tupac.
